The name Traeth Abermenai translates to the beach at the mouth of Menai Strait.
Whilst not strictly a river this area does have very much the appearance of one, with large areas wet sand and salt marshes behind it on low tide that form into blankets for sleeping during summer nights under starry skies full-bright lights up above.
Only interrupted by ships passing through these channels between Ireland’s North Coast Guard Station Llanelli (which overlooks Wales) – Dublin Bay or Holyhead Island’s Port Authority alongside Liverpool John Lennon Airport where they all dock before heading back out again towards their respective homes across Europe.
