Kessingland is a long, wide beach backed by low cliffs. The erosion here isn’t as bad due to the marram grass planted by writer and agricultural reformist Henry Rider Haggard who may well have been inspired for his character Allan Quatermain when he visited this countryside in the early 1900s; it has also become famous through its fictional Indiana Jones namesake that most likely came from reading about him while vacationing at Kessingtonlnd hundreds of years earlier during Victorian times!:
