Is this the most romantic place you have ever been to? I think so. Broughton Bay is a large, sandy bay on the north-western tip of Gower Peninsula and it’s backed by dunes that constantly shift with every tide cycle.
Recently beachcombers found an interesting find here-a a 17th-century sword handle!
There is also evidence suggesting Palaeolithic man inhabited caves around cliffs at the northern end of this area as well as Romans did centuries ago; they settled down for good after building temples in nearby villages like Kanigher where locals still worship today.
