With its iconic lighthouse standing sentry over the waves, Barry Island is most definitely not an island. It used to be one but in Victorian times when docks were built on what had been farmland and sand dunes for miles around it joined up with the mainland.
Today you can find all your traditional seaside amusements here: pleasure park; vibrant high street full of quirky independent stores – Watch House Bay does have something special though! This quiet beach has stunning views of Ireland.
